CHANNEL LETTER SIGNS
Channel Letters are a very attractive and classy option for your signage. You see them all around you at malls, strip malls, and many large companies. They are three dimensional, individually lighted letters or designs that are either mounted individually on a building or mounted on a raceway that is then mounted on the building.
TYPES OF CHANNEL LETTER SIGNS
There are four types of channel letter signs that we custom fabricate in our on-site workshop.
FRONT LIT
Front lit channel letter signs have LED lights located in the front of the letters or any design/logo.
This channel letter signs are the most popular because, whether it is day or night, they provide great visibility.
REVERSE LIT/HALO
The LED lights in a Reverse Lit, or Halo, channel letter sign actually shine from the back of the letters to the wall, or surface to which the sign is attached, providing an elegant and unique visual effect around the sign.
Unlike Front Lit Channel letter signs, the letters and any designs of this sign do not illuminate.
COMBINATION (FRONT & REVERSE LIT)
A Combination Channel Letter Sign incorporates LED lights used for Front Lit and Reverse Lit signs. Both the front and back of the letters are made of acrylic allowing the internal LED lights to illuminate the letter face as well as providing the halo effect on the wall or mounting surface.
This combination rather unusual and provides an extremely unique look for your business sign.
OPEN FACE
Open Face Channel Letter Signs create the “open face” look by creating the letter front with acrylic, which allows you to see the LED lights within the letters.
Traditionally, these signs were made with neon inside the letters. While this can still be done, the advent of LED lighting has made neon obsolete for channel letter lighting.
CHANNEL LETTER FABRICATION
We use top quality materials and the latest technology to produce our channel letters. Beyond only letters, we can create and manufacture any logo design in your channel letter signage. There are numerous ways that you can elect to have your logo or design incorporated into your channel letter sign. This provides your business an opportunity to have a truly unique and visually stunning sign.
LETTERS
To ensure top quality, we use 0.60 aluminum backs and 3/16” acrylic faces on our standard sized channel letters. Larger letters require even thicker aluminum and acrylic.
We cut the faces and backs of your channel letters using our AXYZ Trident CNC Router.
RETURNS (SIDES)
The returns, or sides, of the channel letters are produced using our Accubend channel letter machine.
This machine ensures perfect cuts and allows us to produce a very structurally sound letter that is better than rivets and more economical.
If required, we can custom paint match the returns to match an exact color.
LED LIGHTS
The LED’s have a large color gambit, they are less expensive to purchase, easier to install, cost less to operate, and have a longer life.
Using top quality LED lighting and transformers, you have an endless list of options available with respect to color and brightness.
Raceway or Individual Mounted Letters
There are two mounting options available for channel letter signs: raceway or individual mounted.
Raceway Mounted
There are two different reason why you might want to use a raceway to mount your channel letter sign:
- To meet your landlord’s specifications
- It allows for an easier and less expansive installation.
If a raceway is required, our fabricators will manufacture it during the production process.
While we can match any color that you might like, raceways are usually painted the same color as the building so that the letters themselves standout against the building. This contrast between the color of the building and the color of the channel letter sign is very important for creating the stunning visual appeal that most customers expect.
INDIVIDUAL MOUNTED LETTERS
Many business owners like the look of the individually mounted letters. With this mounting option, each letter is mounted right onto the face of the building.
This method usually cost more and can sometimes be more complicated because the wiring must be done on-site and inside the building behind the letters.
Regardless, many business owners decide to go this route because they like the look or building codes do not allow for a raceway.
SIGN INSTALLATION
Once your channel letter sign is fully manufactured, wired and painted, our professional team of experienced installers will install your cabinet sign in a safe and professional manner using equipment that is properly inspected and insured. Customers should not hesitate to ask the sign company installing their signage to provide a certificate of insurance showing that their equipment and employees are fully insured.
Our installers are well trained and experienced in all aspects of sign installations and we have well maintained cranes and bucket trucks with the ability to lift any sign into position. Our installers are also experienced with footer and concrete installations of large architectural signs.
We will not subcontract your installation to another company. Our team takes great pride in creating your project from the design phase until final installation.
